As you may already be aware, we have begun to move away from documenting your child’s development in ‘Profiles’ (the folders we normally show you at parents evening) and have begun using an online system called Tapestry to record observations and nursery photos.
Over the next few weeks we will be sending you links via your email so you can sign up to Tapestry. This will then enable you to access your child’s journal whenever you. Please check your spam or junk boxes as the verification email may be found in there.
Once you have received your email, you will need to create your own password and PIN which is unique to you and we do not have access to. (If you ever forget your password or PIN, you will need you follow the instructions on the App or on the website to reset it.)
You can then access Tapestry by downloading their free App, or you can use your web browser via the website tapestryjournal.com
Staff will complete observations and these will be available for you to view around the first week of every month (you will receive an email each time the observations are added to your child’s journal)
You can comment on any of the observations on your child which can be read by your child’s key person and the Manager. You can also add photos and videos yourself using the + symbol at the top of the screen.
Please bear with us over the next few months as we adjust to using the new system, it has been a massive change for us all and all the staff are doing well to learn how to use Tapestry and I am sure there will be some teething problems along the way.
However, the software is a fantastic tool and we are all really excited to be using it, so we hope you will be, too!
Please feel free to speak to me if you need help with anything, or if you have any questions regarding Tapestry.
