“The nursery is well run, the staff are excellent and my son has grown in confidence and learned so much. It’s a relaxed very friendly environment.”
At about the age of 2, children spend more time in the rooms known as the ‘Bears’ and ‘Butterflies’.
Many children in these two rooms enjoy regular sessions with our dance teacher, as well as the more familiar nursery activities such as sand and water play, role play, the creative corner and educational computer games. We encourage outdoor play all year round, and include children in the tending of our nursery garden.
Throughout the nursery, staff plan fun activities for their own key group, although of course children are welcome to have a go at everything on offer. It means that we get to know individual children very well indeed, so that when it comes to preparing for big school, we can encourage them to practice important skills such as independent dressing and name recognition.
The government issues statutory guidelines on the way nurseries care for children, known as The Early Years Foundation Stage. Whatever your child is doing at nursery, you can be assured that staff are constantly working within this framework.
