Rachael’s Granola Squares

Our cook, Rachael, has developed this lovely recipe to reduce the amount of sugar in the original. It includes healthy oats, sunflower seeds, coconut and dried fruit, to sustain the children through the afternoon.

Rachael's granola squares

Makes 40 squares

100g margarine or butter

60ml golden syrup

120g sugar

300g oats

2 tsp cinnamon

80g sunflower seeds

80g desiccated coconut

150g dried fruit

 

Melt the margarine, syrup and sugar together. Add the dried ingredients. Press the mixture into a greaseproof-paper lined tray and back for about 20  minutes at 175 degrees. Cut into squares and enjoy!
